Burglars final set..

Here are some images of the final set, created with a £200 budget, but using props and some set pieces from the playhouse stock. The floor is from a previous show by Laura McEwen and I cannot take credit for that! The biggest cost was the fabric and polystyrene architrave.

My very tidy desk...

I've been working on the platform's wooden deck, using a combination of very thin wood veneer, balsa wood, varnish and paint.

I've worked into the texture and colour of the floor, added a cut out window to the back wall and developed the downstage narration area.

The Heights Model continued..

I have added a wall covered in layers of paper, developed the floor, which is still unfinished, i would like the floor to be more of a pale green/turquoise shade in the center, the bed still needs more work and will eventually resemble a more detailed frame, (cast iron look). There are still 3 more masks to complete and design elements of costume to accompany them.

Pericles model box update..

Today I have added a wooden floor, reduced the back of the raised platform, developed the swag shape of the suspended fabric towards the back, added curtain tracks with draped muslin underneath the platform and experimented with different wood for the decking.

The Heights model continued..

Model box continued, the set contains a bed, which characters can appear from within, a window frame that is on wheels enabling it to be moved around the stage. The frame also becomes a t.v screen and helps to create the landscape for other scenes.

Suspended from the ceiling are a flock of origami birds, that Lillie (the main character) has folded from her discarded pages of writing. Downstage hangs a washing line with pages of her stories pegged to it.

Home decoration..

Above shows two desk drawers that i found and turned into a shelf unit for the living room.

Finished kitchen shelves, put up with the help of a very handy man..

These shelves i created by decoupaging a range of wallpaper, sheet music, signed playing cards and promotional theatre posters.

This is an old desk chair that I've covered with sheet music and old family photographs, then wrapped the frame with vintage fabric and wool.

More items and presents..

This clock was an Xmas present for my Mum, showing three images of me, my mum and my grandma all sewing. I've added buttons and pins to the inside of the clock.

More record bowls using a new method of shaping the vinyl.
